John "Jake" Jaques
About me:
I began my career in education as a middle school social studies teacher. After receiving my Master's Degree from the University of Maine in Instructional Technology I transitioned into technology. From 2002-2016 I worked in Maine in a number of schools implementing the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI), the statewide laptop program. For a time MLTI was the largest 1-1 deployment in the nation. In 2011 I founded Maine's first charter school for STEM (science, technology engineering and math), the Baxter Academy for Technology & Science in Portland. Most recently I served as the Director of Technology Integration for the King Philip School Department outside of Boston.
